Country Music Hall of Fame

“Sing Me Back Home” Exhibit

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, in Nashville, Tennessee, was looking to make adjustments to the entry at the main exhibits area of the museum. The goal was to more clearly define the beginning of the museum’s core exhibit and where to go once you were in the space. Method-1 collaborated with the museum to redesign a dramatic entry with a focused layout and a clear understanding of the fluidity of the narrative.

This new design helped to define and control access to the temporary galleries behind and adjacent to the entry of the museum’s core exhibit. This enhancement also provided more space to showcase the early roots of country music, exploring the melding of fiddle music and the balladry of the British Isles with  African American folk music, gospel music, blues and more. The space was designed in a way that made it easily recognizable as the beginning of the museum tour, which takes visitors through a chronological journey of country music from its pre-commercial roots through today.
